Designer Diary: Logo Design | 02.18.10

I recently had the opportunity to create logo for Maria who owns DoggyDailys, a dog walking/pet sitting business in San Diego. She wanted a logo that was caring, trustworthy and dependable, but that would be unique and cheerful to anyone that saw it. I tried a couple of different concepts before sketching out this pup on my tablet and thinking he was cute and looked pretty caring :]

Check out my design process after the jump and let me know what you think!

I felt this was a perfect opportunity to use those super cute rounded fonts I had been downloading like crazy. I was really set on the rounded font and design, but I decided to try sketching a dog just to see how it looked. After a few different sketches, I really liked how this lil’ guy turned out so I threw him in the mix to see what the client would think.

She ended up really liking the sketch, but wanting some brighter colors and that’s how I got to the final logo at the top. I’m thrilled that Maria is loving her new logo and wish her all the best with her business!

sick concept, I even dig the typographic approach with the O being a paw print hehe…but, like you said, that dog is just dog gone adorable. Keep it up and hope to hear from ya soon. Peace!
